Amy and Brian France Honored At Angel Ball 2019
This October, Amy and Brian France were honored by Gabrielle’s Angel Foundation at the Angel Ball 2019. The Angel Ball is an annual gala that serves as the signature fundraising event for the foundation and is known for its standout live entertainment, celebrity guests and global media coverage. Each year, the event brings together attendees in business, philanthropy and entertainment, and honors individuals who have made significant humanitarian and philanthropic contributions in support of blood cancer research.
Amy and Brian were honored for their contributions to Gabrielle’s Angel Foundation and support of its mission over the past year. The Frances have supported Gabrielle’s Angel Foundation through the Luke and Meadow Foundation, a philanthropic organization founded by the Frances and named after their son and daughter. Through the Luke and Meadow Foundation, the France family has provided direct support to Gabrielle’s Angel Foundation and the patients and institutions it serves.
The Frances were also honored at the Angel Ball in 2015 for their contributions to cancer research and their work with child cancer survivors. In June 2015, the Frances and the Luke and Meadow Foundation partnered with Gabrielle’s Angel Foundation to host child cancer survivors at the Pocono Raceway. The children were able to meet NASCAR drivers and get a behind-the-scenes tour before watching the race. The race was also dedicated to cancer survivors and helped encourage the NASCAR community to rally in the fight for cancer research and patient treatment.
The 2019 Angel Ball was hosted by songwriter Denise Rich and her daughters Daniella Rich Kilstock and Ilona Rich Schachter. Denise Rich founded Gabrielle’s Angel Foundation after the loss of her daughter Gabrielle Rich Aouad. The organization is named in her honor and works to encourage the development of more effective therapies for patients with leukemia, lymphoma and related cancers. The foundation supports both clinical research and improvements in patient treatment and care. This year’s event raised more than $3 million for the foundation and will support the nation’s leading cancer research scientists in finding less toxic treatments for patients living with leukemia, lymphoma and related cancers.
Actress and television personality KeKe Palmer emceed this year’s Angel Ball, and the event’s musical performers included Patti LaBelle, Boy George, Flo Rida and DJ Ruckus. More than 1,000 guests attended the black-tie event, including celebrities such as Heidi Klum, Devon Windsor, Tommy Hilfiger and Star Jones. In addition to Amy and Brian France, this year’s event also honored Marc J. Leder, Co-Chief Executive Officer, Sun Capital Partners, Inc.
