With a longtime fondness for the community of Charlotte, North Carolina, Amy and Brian France are thrilled to partner with SHARE Charlotte this year to support a diverse set of causes and an educational series. The organization brings local nonprofits and community members together to support those in need. Brian and Amy are set to work with SHARE Charlotte throughout 2020, and they’re eager to give back to this community by supporting a wide range of causes over the next year.

The partnership officially began in November 2019, when the Amy and Brian France Foundation served as a presenting sponsor of SHARE Charlotte’s annual Giving Tuesday event. Immediately following Cyber Monday, Giving Tuesday is a global movement to jumpstart the holiday giving season. SHARE Charlotte’s local response, #GivingTuesdayCLT, is a campaign that galvanizes the community to donate time, money, and goods to the hundreds of nonprofits that operate in the area. This includes local chapters of nationally-recognized organizations like Habitat for Humanity of Charlotte and Special Olympics North Carolina, as well as homegrown nonprofits like Charlotte Family Housing. The 2019 #GivingTuesdayCLT campaign raised $2.1 million in addition to hundreds of thousands of dollars’ worth of donated goods and volunteered time. This came just in time to give Charlotte’s nonprofits a boost for the holiday season—often a difficult time for those in need. Amy and Brian are grateful they had the opportunity to play a part in helping SHARE Charlotte achieve this success.

The partnership between the Frances and SHARE Charlotte continues over the next year as the Amy and Brian France Foundation presents SHARE Charlotte’s 2020 #SpotlightOnCLT series. Each month, SHARE Charlotte will highlight an issue and connect community members to local nonprofits that support that cause. The series began in January with a spotlight on financial literacy. The campaign promoted organizations like Common Wealth Charlotte, Community Link, and RoleModels University that help people in economic need with everything from daily personal finances to renting and homeownership.

The France family looks forward to supporting more causes and maximizing their impact on Charlotte as the Spotlight series continues. Visit the Luke and Meadow Foundation to learn more about the France family’s work with organizations like SHARE Charlotte.
